Before reporting a bug¶
- Make sure you are running the latest version of Kloxo (in the web panel, click the "update" button).
- Search LxCenter forums and wiki to see if anyone else has the same problem. Include links to said posts/articles in your report.
- Search for similar bug reports in this bug-tracker that describes your issue. If so, update it with your own experience, do not create a new one.
- It must be reproducible by developers. Try replicating your issue in another server whenever possible for confirmation.
How to report Bugs¶
Topic:- A short recognizable description of the bug. Example: Lxguard blocks users if they sneeze. (Function + Action + Bug)
- Give a description of the bug in your own words. Not a few words, but in some lines.
- Describe the affected function(s).
- List related files if they are known.
Steps to replicate:
These are VERY important in a bug report:- Give a step-by-step on how to replicate the problem.
- Expected result: How the application should behave on above mentioned steps.
- Actual result: What is the actual result on running above steps i.e. the bug behavior.
- If you are able to, propose patches or simple fixes that might provide a solution. Don't be shy, we are not here to judge your skills.
- Enter your system info. Example: CentOS 5.2 32-bit in a OpenVZ VPS.
- Whenever possible, include your server/vps specs and total resource usage (ram, disk, etc) when the bug manifests.
- State if your system includes all updates to date (yum update) and/or if you have manually compiled software.
- If available, select a proper category.
- Do not set the target version. [developers/bugteam task]
- Do not assign a developer. [developers/bugteam task]
- Do not set a priority higher than "Normal". [developers/bugteam task]
- If you know more people experiencing the same issue, have them update your bug report with their own findings.
- Reported issues without above information may be rejected or asked to complete the missing information.
- Do not use this site to get support. Use the Forum instead! http://forum.lxcenter.org/
